Anyone who has ever followed a supplier evaluation process knows by definition that people are subjective. People interpret the information in offers or supplier proposals in their way. Processing a lot of information also takes the necessary effort. Everyone reads what they want to read to a greater or lesser extent. Even with solid substantiation in the form of figures (KPIs), discussions regularly arise. I then ask a question like: Where did you read that? Asking such questions helps me better understand whether it is an opinion or a fact. It is also important to understand group dynamics. However, an objective supplier assessment remains very difficult. How do you guarantee an objective assessment process?
